The Douglas Fir Rocking Chair

The beauty of the Douglas Fir chair is enhanced by the strong symmetrical grain patterns in the wood. These grain patterns amplify the shape of each piece of wood in the chair. Douglas Fir is unique from other woods because it starts out light then darkens and becomes extremely rich in colour as it ages. Douglas Fir wood is durable, and that's why it's commonly used as a flooring wood. Our Douglas Fir chairs are very durable because they are made from trees that are very tightly grained from slowly growing in our cold northern climate.
